ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a passionate and dependable individual to join our team at the café. This is a hands-on, multi-faceted role where no two days are the same — you will be caring for our resident cats, serving customers, managing café operations, and keeping everything running smoothly. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Experience

• Provide warm, attentive customer service and respond to enquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Check in customers upon arrival, process payments, and maintain accurate transaction records
• Communicate and uphold house rules to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for both guests and cats
• Manage appointments, bookings, and waitlists efficiently

Cat Care & Welfare

• Perform basic grooming tasks including brushing, eye cleaning, and nail trimming
• Clean and maintain cat areas and litter boxes to uphold hygiene standards
• Monitor cat behaviour and well-being throughout operating hours, escalating any health or behavioural concerns to management
• Recognise signs of stress or illness in cats and act accordingly

Café Operations

• Maintain overall cleanliness and tidiness of the café at all times
• Conduct regular stock takes and manage inventory for food and beverage items, cat supplies, and retail products
• Handle cash and operate POS systems; experience with point-of-sale or reservation platforms is a plus
• Coordinate and prepare customer orders and product deliveries

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Prior experience in service, operations, administration, or personal assistant roles
• Demonstrated experience managing schedules, appointments, or bookings
• Comfortable in customer-facing environments with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Genuine interest in cats and animal care
• Physically able to be on your feet for extended periods and perform light physical tasks such as lifting supplies and bending to clean
• Able to remain composed under pressure and manage a busy café floor while ensuring cats are not overwhelmed by crowd noise or foot traffic
• A team player who is willing to cover varied tasks across care, service, and admin as the situation demands
