E&I Engineer - FLOWVISION A/S
About FLOWVISION A/S
FLOWVISION A/S is a Danish engineering company founded in 2006, specialized in designing and delivering advanced emission abatement systems for combustion-based power plants worldwide. Since 2021, the company has been part of AXENS GROUP, while continuing to operate as an independent business with its own organization, commercial responsibility, and market-facing role.
The company operates in an international EPC environment and delivers technically advanced solutions to customers within the energy, oil & gas, and industrial sectors across multiple global markets. FLOWVISION collaborates closely with major international players and is recognized for its strong technical know-how, high-quality standards, and ability to solve complex engineering challenges.
Today, FLOWVISION employs around 20 highly skilled specialists, creating a strong concentration of technical competencies and deep industry expertise. This gives the company the agility and close collaboration of a small expert team, combined with the backing and broader industrial context of being part of Axens.
FLOWVISION offers a flat organizational structure, short decision-making processes, and a collaborative culture where openness, knowledge sharing, and teamwork are essential parts of everyday life.
The company is currently experiencing significant growth and a strong order intake, creating attractive opportunities for professionals who want to influence both project execution and the continued development of the business.
The position
As E&I Engineer, you will become part of FLOWVISION's highly specialized engineering environment and play a central role in the electrical and instrumentation execution of technically advanced international projects.
You will work closely with Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Supply Chain, QHSE, workshops, suppliers, and external engineering partners. Your responsibility is to ensure that electrical designs, components, documentation, and technical interfaces are correct, practical, cost-effective, and ready for fabrication, installation, and inspection.
The role combines detailed engineering with practical project execution. You will work from customer specifications and standards through design, procurement, supplier clarification, fabrication support, FAT, and final documentation. A particularly important part of the role is specifying and selecting electric motors and associated electrical equipment for FLOWVISION's systems.
This is not a PLC programming position. However, you need a sound understanding of control systems, instrumentation, signal exchange, I/O architecture, software logic, and control philosophy. Some PLC programming experience will be an advantage when reviewing interfaces and supporting project execution.
The position is ideal for someone who enjoys turning complex specifications into clear requirements, making sound technical decisions, and following issues through to completion.
Key responsibilities
Electrical and instrumentation project execution
- Review customer RFQs, technical specifications, standards, and requirements, identifying clarifications, risks, assumptions, and consequences for price, schedule, and execution.
- Translate customer requirements and agreed project scope into clear electrical and instrumentation requirements for suppliers and external engineering partners.
- Prepare and maintain electrical diagrams, I/O lists, cable lists, datasheets, logic diagrams, bills of materials, and component specifications.
- Specify and select electric motors and related components based on process duty, performance, electrical data, operating conditions, applicable standards, ATEX requirements, cost, and delivery time.
- Design junction boxes and define cables, glands, terminals, and associated electrical hardware.
- Coordinate electrical interfaces with mechanical and process disciplines, including cable routing, instrument connections, signal exchange, and control system interfaces.
- Identify, resolve, and document technical issues, deviations, and design changes with consistency and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
Supplier, procurement, and workshop coordination
- Prepare technical purchase requirements and support procurement RFQs and purchase planning.
- Review supplier quotations, drawings, datasheets, quality documentation, and technical deviations against project requirements.
- Coordinate technical clarifications with suppliers and subcontractors, consolidate comments, manage revisions, and ensure closure of open actions.
- Act as the day-to-day E&I contact for workshops and fabrication partners, responding to technical questions and resolving practical installation issues.
- Participate in inspections, pre-FAT, FAT, and commissioning support, and follow up on punch items, deviations, and non-conformities.
- Contribute to practical, standardized, and cost-effective E&I solutions based on lessons learned from fabrication, FAT, and commissioning.
Qualifications
We expect you to have:
- A relevant technical background, for example as an Electrical Engineer, Automation Engineer, Automation Technologist, Marine Engineer, Electrical Technician, Industrial Electrician, or similar. Practical industrial E&I experience is more important than a specific academic title.
- Hands-on knowledge of electrical installations for industrial machinery, automation systems, control panels, or process plants.
- Documented experience specifying and selecting electric motors. This is essential.
- Experience using EPLAN or another relevant ECAD system and the ability to read, review, and technically assess electrical drawings and software logic.
- A good understanding of instrumentation, I/O systems, control interfaces, and process control philosophy.
- Experience from project-based engineering, machinery construction, process plants, maintenance, workshops, fabrication, or EPC-type environments.
- Familiarity with relevant standards such as EN, IEC, UL, and NFPA, together with experience of or strong understanding of ATEX requirements.
- Experience working with controlled documentation, revisions, BOM structures, and document management systems.
- Strong English communication skills, written and spoken. Danish is considered an advantage.
Your personal profile
You are analytical, highly structured, and able to maintain a clear overview across several parallel projects. You enjoy reading specifications and standards and converting them into practical, commercially sound requirements. You are curious and eager to learn, but your desire to understand the details never comes at the expense of progress and delivery.
You take ownership, make decisions, and follow tasks through to completion. In dialogue with suppliers and colleagues, you communicate honestly and directly while remaining constructive and respectful. You are comfortable challenging technical input and can be persistent when you know that a requirement or solution is correct.
Most importantly, you combine attention to technical quality with a sharp awareness of cost, deadlines, manufacturability, and the practical realities of installation and commissioning.
