Skilled Wall and Floor Tiler
About the company
Floman Construction Ltd is seeking five qualified and experienced wall and floor tilers for residential and commercial construction projects in Dublin. Candidates will carry out skilled tiling and interior finishing work, including substrate preparation, setting out, tile cutting, installation, waterproofing, grouting and finishing.
Your tasks
Read and interpret tiling plans, drawings, measurements and layout specifications.
Measure, mark out and set out tiling areas and calculate material requirements.
Prepare wall and floor substrates by cleaning, priming, screeding and levelling.
Mix and apply tile adhesives, bonding compounds, grout and epoxy grout.
Cut, shape and install ceramic, porcelain, marble and natural stone tiles using manual and power tools.
Install tiles on internal walls and floors in bathrooms, kitchens, wet rooms and residential or commercial premises.
Install waterproofing, tanking, anti-fracture or uncoupling membranes where required.
Form corners, edges, openings, mitred joints and detailed finishes.
Apply grout and joint sealants, including movement-joint sealants where specified.
Inspect completed work and correct defects or alignment issues.
Use tiling tools and equipment safely and maintain them in good condition.
Coordinate with site supervisors and other trades.
Comply with Irish construction-site health and safety requirements and use PPE correctly.
Requirements
Relevant tiling trade training or recognised qualification, or appropriate evidence of trade competence.
Minimum two to three years’ practical experience in wall and floor tiling.
Ability to measure, set out, cut and install tiles accurately to drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of substrate preparation, screeding, levelling, adhesives, grouting, movement joints, waterproofing and sealing.
Ability to interpret tiling layouts and complete detailed cutting and finishing work.
Experience using manual and power-operated tiling tools safely.
Good understanding of construction-site health and safety procedures.
Health and Safety Candidates must comply with Irish health and safety legislation and site-specific safety procedures. A valid Safe Pass card must be held before undertaking construction-site work where required.

Employment Conditions Permanent, full-time position. 39 hours per week, normally Monday to Friday. Site-based in Dublin. Basic remuneration: €23.74 per hour, equivalent to €48,144.72 annually based on 39 hours per week over 52 weeks. Overtime, where authorised, will be paid in accordance with applicable statutory requirements and any relevant Sectoral Employment Order.
