QA Engineer (Manual + Automation)

Your tasks

• Review product requirements and user stories, and flag gaps and edge cases before development starts
• Write and maintain test plans, test scenarios, and test cases
• Perform manual testing: functional, regression, exploratory, UI/UX, and cross-browser / cross-device
• Test mobile apps (Android and iOS) on real devices and emulators
• Build and maintain automated test suites for web (Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium)
• Automate API testing with Postman / Newman or code-based frameworks
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines so they run on every build
• Validate data accuracy in backend databases using SQL queries
• Log, track, and retest bugs with clear reproduction steps, severity, and evidence
• Run smoke tests and sign off on releases
• Work closely with Developers and Product to resolve issues and improve release quality
• Track and report quality metrics (bug counts, test coverage, release defects)
• Use AI tools to speed up test case generation, test data creation, and documentation

Requirements

Must Have

• 2 to 3 years of experience as a QA Engineer covering both manual and automation testing
• Strong knowledge of QA fundamentals: SDLC, STLC, test design techniques, and bug lifecycle
• Hands-on experience with at least one web automation framework (Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium)
• Basic sScripting skills in JavaScript / TypeScript, Python, or Java
• Experience testing REST APIs using Postman or similar tools
• Basic SQL to query and validate data (MySQL / PostgreSQL)
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (Jira, TestRail, Qase, or similar)
• Experience testing mobile applications (Android / iOS)
• Familiar with Git and Agile / Scrum workflows
• Strong attention to detail and clear written communication

Nice to Have

• Mobile automation experience (Appium, Maestro, or Detox)
• Performance or load testing (JMeter, k6)
• Basic security testing knowledge (OWASP, authentication and authorization checks)
• Experience running tests in CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
• Experience testing AI / LLM-powered features
• ISTQB certification
• Background in fintech, lending, or other regulated industries
