Accountant A-Z | Full cycle, from entry to analysis
Job Description
At a Belgian bicycle manufacturer that once started in a garage welding its own frames, almost everything happens under one roof today: R&D and wind tunnel testing, an in-house paint shop, assembly, and sales to cycling enthusiasts worldwide. Anyone who follows such a bicycle from design to delivery sees how every link determines the next. Good accounting works the same way, from the first entry through the monthly closing to the analysis that lands on the management's desk. For a stable organization with its own finance department in Antwerpen, where you will take charge of that full cycle, we are looking for an Accountant A-Z.
Package of Tasks
- The daily basics, from purchase invoice to receivable: you support the accounts payable (purchase invoices and outstanding items) and the accounts receivable (sales invoices and receivables), and you keep the full accounting of one or more companies in order.
- Periods neatly closed: you complete the monthly and annual closings, perform controls and analyses, and ensure financial reporting which you prepare, follow up on, and analyze. Also, the internal stakeholders who rely on your figures will receive the reporting they need from you.
- Helping build better processes: you analyze and optimize workflows, help automate where possible, and participate in ad-hoc projects, such as initiatives that improve the exchange and quality of financial data between operational systems and Finance. You do this together with Finance and other departments.
Profile
- You have several years of experience in accounting or accountancy and a bachelor's degree in Accountancy-Fiscaliteit, Boekhouden or an equivalent education. You live in the Antwerpen region.
- You have a good command of Belgian accounting principles; being at home in btw and Belgian fiscaliteit is an added advantage. You are IT-minded, with an interest in accounting software and in how it is linked to operational systems.
- Accurate, structured, and analytical: this is how colleagues describe your work. You have a critical eye for data quality, work independently and in a team, are flexible with deadlines, and proactively take the initiative to improve processes. You work fluently in English (required); French is an added advantage.
