Preschool English & Phonics Enrichment Teacher (4 Day Work Week)

First Konnection is recruiting a Preschool English & Phonics Enrichment Teacher for an enrichment centre in Tampines.
You will teach children aged 1–6, helping them develop their English, phonics and early literacy skills through engaging small-group lessons.
Previous preschool teaching experience and formal preschool qualifications are not required. Training will be provided. Fresh graduates, career switchers and applicants with relevant teaching experience are welcome.
What You Will Do
- Teach age-appropriate English and phonics lessons.
- Manage small-group classes of up to 10 children.
- Prepare lessons, worksheets and teaching materials using the centre’s curriculum and digital tools.
- Create a positive classroom environment and support children with different learning needs.
- Participate in training, follow the centre’s teaching approach and apply feedback.
- Support Maths lessons or relief coverage where suitable, based on your subject competency.
- Be open to discussing lower-primary teaching if classes are introduced at the branch.
What We Are Looking For
- GCE O-Level English Language grade B3 or better, with supporting results, as the role involves teaching English and phonics.
- Clear spoken and written English.
- Patience and confidence engaging young children.
- Willingness to learn and follow the centre’s lesson structure.
- Comfort using basic digital tools and learning the centre’s systems, including Zoom, Google tools, Word, Excel and AI-assisted worksheet preparation.
- Ability to commit to working both Saturday and Sunday.
Maths Capability
O-Level Elementary or Additional Mathematics grade B3 or better is an advantage.
English is the priority. Applicants without Maths B3 may still be considered for an English-focused role. Any Maths teaching duties will depend on the applicant’s subject competency.
Salary & Training
For fresh graduates:
- First 3 months: S$2,700 per month.
- After successful completion of probation: S$3,000 per month.
Training in the centre’s teaching methods and systems will be provided.
Working Days & Hours
You will normally work 4 days a week:
- Monday: 9:30am–6:30pm
- Friday: 9:45am–7:15pm
- Saturday: 8am–7pm
- Sunday: 8am–7pm
Each working day includes a 1 hour lunch break.
Your usual days off are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Both Saturday and Sunday are compulsory working days.
Up To 6 Extra Tuesdays Per Year
Under this schedule, you may also be required to work on up to 6 Tuesdays per year for training or operational needs.
During those weeks, you will work 5 days: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Wednesday and Thursday remain your days off.
These extra Tuesdays are scheduled when needed. Advance notice will be given through the roster, which is generally planned 2–3 months ahead.
Possible Change To The Regular Weekday
Depending on operational needs, the centre may arrange for Tuesday to replace Monday as your regular working day. This would still be a normal 4 day work week.
If this alternative arrangement applies, the regular schedule and arrangements for the additional working days will be explained and confirmed before joining.
