Analyst (Biotechnology direction)

The team of the Phystech School of Biological and Medical Physics of MIPT is looking for a specialist for the position of Analyst. Our analyst collects technical, market, and statistical information from various sources and creatively processes it into a report, article, or presentation to answer a practical request, such as “comparison of the most productive yeast cultivation methods” or “assessment of the human resource needs of the pharmaceutical substance production industry in Russia.” You will work with open data sources and use them to find deep patterns, support practical conclusions, and present them proficiently in text and dashboards. In case of the absence of certain data in available sources, skills in independent assessment/calculation are welcomed. Project profile: state assignments and commercial projects with business in the biotechnology direction.

Responsibilities:

• searching for information in the biotechnology direction in open sources in Russian and English, working with open databases of scientific publications and patents;
• conducting full-cycle scientific research.
• Market and technology research: calculation of market volume, capacity, structure, export-import balance, analysis of the competitive environment, price analysis, consumer analysis, development of marketing strategies, assessment of market potential, research of state regulation experience, and other standard types of analysis;
• conducting surveys and interviews, participating in meetings with clients to identify needs and construct possible solutions;
• strategic planning and forecasting, building forecasting models for planning;
• drafting analytical notes, reports, and presentations based on collected analytics, reporting the results of the work performed;
• writing and publishing review scientific articles in peer-reviewed international publications;
• research will mainly be focused on the following areas: biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, IT solutions for biotech and pharma, as well as technical and natural science education.

Requirements:

• higher education (preferably biological, economic, mathematical, or technical);
• academic scientific track (state assignments, commercial projects with business) or consulting track (marketing research/business plans/strategic consulting);
• experience working with large arrays of textual and numerical information (primary and secondary sources) and preparing analytical reports and presentations, the ability to structure data and make concise conclusions;
• interest in research and search activities, identifying cause-and-effect relationships, readiness for experiments in the search for answers;
• developed competencies in the field of applying methods for conducting economic research;
• successful proven experience in analytical activities;
• proficiency in data visualization tools, ability to structure information on slides, work with infographics;
• experience in writing scientific/analytical texts;
• active life position, hard-working, disciplined;
• English B2;
