Head of Design Department (Service)

Team management of designers (from 5 to 10 people): recruitment, adaptation, organization of mentoring, monitoring the execution of planned tasks by department employees, conducting certifications, evaluating the work efficiency of department employees. Organization of design work: formation of monthly/quarterly plans, organization of internal norm control, optimization and standardization of design processes. Organization of work with the technical archive and document management: ensuring timely submission of design documentation to the technical archive, monitoring compliance with the procedure for changing documentation, organizing the issuance of drawing copies from the archive upon request, implementation and maintenance of an electronic archive (digitization of historical documentation, assignment of codes), preparation of documents for transfer to the customer as part of reporting documentation for OKR stages. Ensuring manufacturability and standards: monitoring compliance with ESKD and industry standards, checking drawings for manufacturability, implementing unification (reducing the number of unique parts, using standard assemblies, profiles, and fasteners), participating in quality assurance and management at the enterprise. Interaction with related departments on projects.

Requirements

Work experience in a design department of at least 7 years, of which at least 3 years in a leadership position (head of department / deputy head / group leader) in the defense industry or in the design of measuring instruments. Deep knowledge of ESKD and understanding of norm control. Knowledge of the procedure for accounting, storage, and handling of design documentation in accordance with ESKD requirements. Mandatory experience in developing products with requirements for climate, vibration, explosion protection, and electromagnetic compatibility. Proficiency in CAD systems at a confident user level (Kompas). Ability to form plans, estimate labor costs, and manage department budgeting. General knowledge of welding technology, turning, milling, and 3D printing. Proficiency in English at the level of reading technical documentation.
