Coastal Authorities Forum Coordinator Required

At the Local Government Research Institute at Tel Aviv University, the Coastal Authorities Forum in Israel includes all local authorities along the Mediterranean Sea, Eilat, the Dead Sea, and the Sea of Galilee. The forum deals with many issues and shared challenges in the fields of planning, development, sustainability, tourism, and more. It serves as a body where discussions take place on principled and practical issues concerning coastal authorities. Additionally, the forum serves for peer learning, the exchange of opinions and ideas, and represents the coastal authorities before decision-makers and regulators in the government and the Knesset.

Responsibilities:

• Engaging local authorities for active membership in the forum and establishing it as a professional home for them
• Organizing conferences, tours, and other forum events
• Publishing a periodic newsletter
• Developing and maintaining the coastal authorities community

Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree required
• Master's degree is an advantage
• Familiarity with the work of local authorities
• Familiarity and interest in the fields of environment, sea, and coast - an advantage
• Experience in resource development and partnership management
• High formulation and writing skills
• English at a very good level
• High computer skills

Period and Employment Type:

• Employment start: beginning of October - one-year contract with an option for extension
• Scope of position – 80%
