Performance and Commissioning Engineer - Renewable Energy

A leading and growing public company in the renewable energy field is looking for a Performance and Commissioning Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Department Manager, involving a combination of work at the headquarters and the company's sites.

Role includes: The role includes professional and engineering responsibility for the performance of the company's energy facilities throughout their entire life cycle – from the installation and Commissioning stage, through handover to operations, to performance analysis and improvement during the facility's life.

Areas of responsibility:

• Performance analysis of photovoltaic facilities and energy storage systems and leading actions to improve yields, reliability, and availability.
• Leading Commissioning tests, performance and acceptance tests, and preparing facilities for commercial operation.
• Accompanying the transfer of facilities from installation to operation, including writing and implementing professional protocols and procedures.
• Providing engineering responses to the operations department, including RCA, failure analysis, and complex troubleshooting.
• Leading engineering upgrades and implementing new technologies.
• Accompanying technical annexes in procurement, installation, and operation contracts.
• Working with performance metrics such as PR, Availability, Yield, and KPIs.
• Routine work with EPC contractors, suppliers, contractors, and operation companies.

Requirements:

• Electrical Engineer with an Engineer Electrician license – Mandatory.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in an engineering role in the renewable energy field.
• Experience in performance analysis, gap identification, and failure analysis – Mandatory.
• Proven ability in complex troubleshooting in electrical, control, and energy systems.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and engineering plans.
• Ability to write protocols, procedures, and technical documents.
• High level of English, including reading and writing technical material.
• High proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
• Driver's license and willingness to work at the company's sites at least two days a week.
• Experience with renewable energy facilities, PV, and/or storage systems.
• Experience in Commissioning, performance tests, runs, and transferring facilities to operation.
• Experience with SCADA, monitoring, and control systems.

Advantage:

• Familiarity with PR, Availability, Yield, and KPIs metrics.
• Familiarity with Nega requirements, the Israel Electric Corporation, and grid connection processes.
• Experience working with EPC, suppliers, and contractors.
• Familiarity with BI tools.
