Quality Inspector

Follow quality procedures and instructions from documents and engineers to perform inspections in IQC, OQA, QW, including on-site customer sorting to ensure accurate and timely reporting of material, WIP, and product quality.

1. Inspect incoming materials to detect non-conforming materials before use or shipment, and prepare inspection reports to reduce problems caused by purchased materials. Detect PPM values during receiving compared to the PPM values of purchased materials.
2. Perform in-process and final inspections according to control plans for manufactured products to ensure processes are under control, as measured by internal audit results.
3. Perform and/or coordinate product sorting activities to comply with customer quality and delivery requirements, measured by customer satisfaction from sorting results.
4. Inspect the quality and quantity of materials returned from customers and report the results.
5. Support the maintenance and coordinate the calibration of measuring instruments to ensure all measuring instruments in use are in good condition, as measured by internal audit results.
6. Coordinate the control and disposal of non-conforming materials within the organization to reduce the risk of misuse of non-conforming materials, measurable by internal audit results.
7. Prepare images and/or samples of quality issues and coordinate to send such information to relevant suppliers (including Southco manufacturing plants).

Qualifications: High school diploma, technical school, Vocational Certificate, or High Vocational Certificate. Basic knowledge of gauge calibration; certified calibrators are preferred. Certified calibrators are required. Certified mechanical inspectors are required. Experience in GD&T inspection. Experience using general measuring gauges for length, shape, thread, etc., and special measuring equipment such as optical projectors, hardness testers, roughness testers, etc. Good quality awareness. Basic knowledge of quality control and experience in controlling non-conforming materials. Familiarity with general software such as MS WORD, MS EXCELL, etc. Experience in quality inspection of electronic components. Basic English reading and writing skills.
