Purchasing Department Manager
- Supervise, develop skills, and coach employees in the purchasing department to work efficiently and transparently
- Monitor and evaluate team performance
- Manage documentation, customs formalities, and international transportation; coordinate with shipping agents to ensure compliance with regulations
- Strategically plan the procurement of direct raw materials (plastics) such as PP, PET, both domestically and internationally
- Source new partners, negotiate prices, commercial terms, credit terms, and contract conditions to maintain the maximum benefits of the company
- Verify and approve Purchase Orders (PO) as well as various contract documents, and maintain up-to-date product/vendor databases in the ERP system
- Manage and drive work processes through technological systems, such as the company's ERP system
- Supervise the recording and updating of the AVL (Approved Vendor List) and record annual vendor evaluation results
- Check the purchasing activities of the procurement team and verify document accuracy to prevent errors
- Define KPIs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the purchasing department to meet international standards
- Attend meetings with Production, Warehouse, and Accounting/Finance departments to plan purchasing in balance with requirements
- Manage the purchasing budget, analyze costs, and perform advance price estimation
- Innovate and seek opportunities for Cost Saving without affecting product quality
- Supervise and manage purchasing documentation to comply with the organization's ISO quality system
Qualifications: Age 30 - 42 years old Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or related fields At least 5 years of experience in raw material procurement (experience in PP, PET plastics will be specially considered) At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory/managerial role Knowledge and understanding of both domestic and international procurement processes, including Import-Export processes, customs formalities, and tax privileges Proficient in using ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, AX) and Express for purchasing management, and have an understanding of ISO standard systems Good English communication skills (due to contacting suppliers and managing import tasks) Leadership skills with the ability to control, supervise, and develop the team, including Import-Export officers Strategic negotiation skills regarding commercial terms and pricing to maximize benefits and drive Cost Saving policies Data analysis skills, advance price estimation, and raw material cost structure analysis Coordination and collaboration skills with other teams such as Production, Warehouse, and Accounting/Finance departments
