Chief Technologist

Required: Chief Technologist / Technology Department Manager

A company in the Valleys area is looking for a senior Technology Manager to lead the company's technological and professional activity, integrating product development, improvement of manufacturing processes, innovation, problem-solving, and leading a professional team. This is a central and significant role in an industrial company, combining technological and strategic vision alongside hands-on field activity, working with many interfaces, and having a direct impact on products and processes.

The role includes:

• Leading the company's technology strategy and activity in accordance with business goals.
• Managing and leading the technology department and professional teams.
• Responsibility for new product development and improvement of existing products.
• Leading development, testing, validation, and transfer from development to production processes.
• Improving and optimizing manufacturing processes, with an emphasis on quality, efficiency, costs, and process stability.
• Identifying, examining, and implementing new technologies, raw materials, and processes.
• Solving complex technological and process problems and providing professional support to production and quality.
• Leading cross-organizational technological projects involving production, quality, engineering, procurement, marketing, and sales.
• Planning and performing experiments, runs, and pilots, and analyzing their results.
• Working with raw material suppliers, manufacturers, laboratories, technology companies, and research entities.
• Leading continuous improvement processes and technological efficiency.
• Monitoring technological trends, raw materials, and market requirements, and identifying development opportunities.
• Managing technological knowledge, specifications, processes, and professional documentation.
• Responsibility for compliance with standard, quality, and regulatory requirements relevant to the company's activity.
• Building work plans, goals, and budgets in the technology field.

• At least a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Process Engineering, or a relevant field.
• 5 years or more of experience in a technological/engineering/R&D role in industry.
• Proven experience in product development, process improvement, and transferring products from development to production.
• Experience in an industrial and manufacturing environment – Mandatory.
• Experience in employee management and/or leading professional teams – Significant advantage.
• Professional experience in the field of bitumen, asphalt, petroleum, rubber, polymers, or hydrocarbon-based materials – Significant advantage.
• Familiarity with raw materials, formulations, and mixing, heating, and processing processes – Advantage.
• Experience in planning and performing experiments, data analysis, and drawing conclusions.
• High ability in solving technological and process problems.
• Ability to lead multi-interface projects from the idea stage to implementation.
• Systemic vision alongside the ability to dive into details and perform practical work in the field.
• High ability in management, leadership, interpersonal communication, and teamwork.
• Very good level of English.
