Contract and Claims Specialist

1. Contractual work - Development and legal expertise of contracts (stevedoring services, bailment, lease of berths/warehouses, towing/mooring). - Monitoring the compliance of contract terms with approved tariffs and the port's commercial policy. - Counterparty verification and maintenance of an up-to-date contract register. 2. Claims work (incoming) - Reviewing claims from cargo owners, freight forwarders, and shipping lines regarding shortages, cargo damage, or disputes over port charges. - Analysis of port documentation and preparation of reasoned responses (admission or reasoned refusal). 3. Claims work (outgoing) - Issuing claims to counterparties for non-payment of services, excess storage, demurrage, and damage to port infrastructure/equipment. 4. Litigation and recovery work - Ensuring compliance with the pre-trial (claim) dispute resolution procedure. - Preparation of statements of claim and participation in court hearings. 5. Internal interaction - Operational interaction with the accounting department (for reconciliation of settlements).

Requirements

Knowledge of the Merchant Shipping Code of the Russian Federation, the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, the basics of customs legislation, understanding of port operation technology, and the ability to read specialized documentation in English.

Higher education — Bachelor's degree; Experience: 1 year
