Job Description:
The Open University is looking for a Head of Content, Communication and Social, with the aim of strengthening the reputation, visibility, and public influence of the University through the creation of high-quality content, managing the media presence, and leading social media.
As part of the role:
- Implementing the University's content strategy across all communication channels, including responsibility for presence and activity on social networks, initiation, writing, editing, and content production.
- Identifying stories, achievements, and research with communication potential and turning them into valuable content for the University's target audiences on the Open University website, social networks, newsletters, magazines, videos, and other marketing materials.
- Writing and editing speeches, messages, opinion pieces, greetings, and content for the University management.
- Routine work with academic faculty, researchers, and University units in order to make academic activity accessible to the public.
- Partnership in managing the University's spokesmanship and public relations system: writing press releases, preparing briefings, accompanying interviews, and handling media inquiries in accordance with the guidance of the Head of Administration, including partnership in managing events and communication crises.
- Leading the University's employer branding field in interface with other departments at the Open University.
- Monitoring content, communication, and social media trends, and producing insights to improve activity.
Reporting to:
Head of Marketing and Communication Administration
Requirements:
- Recognized academic degree.
- At least 4-5 years of experience in content creation, communication, spokesmanship, or content management in a large organization.
- Significant experience in managing social networks and leading content strategy.
- Proven ability in writing, editing, and storytelling at a very high level.
- Experience working with the media and writing press releases.
- Experience in writing speeches, articles, and content for senior management.
- Ability to make complex topics accessible to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with AI tools for content creation, editing, and material production - a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with the higher education world - an advantage.
- Creativity, initiative, ability to work independently, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English at a good level.
Notes:
- Employment via personal agreement - Appendix A to the collective agreement.
- Ability to work flexible hours beyond standard working hours.
- Start date - immediate.
