As an Accountant, you will take operational responsibility for the daily accounting of a Belgian SME within an international group. You will work on-site in Ans and act as the internal financial contact point for local management, the external fiduciaire, and the group finance department.

You will manage the full daily accounting, support the month-end closing, coordinate tax obligations, and ensure correct and transparent financial administration. You will work 20 to 25 hours per week, spread across the work week.

Your responsibilities as an Accountant:

  • You take full responsibility for the daily accounting of the entity.
  • You book purchase and sales invoices.
  • You follow up with suppliers and customers.
  • You perform daily bank reconciliations.
  • You process payments.
  • You follow up on outstanding customer invoices.
  • You reconcile transactions from payment service providers.
  • You ensure the clearing of linked accounts.
  • You manage the fixed asset register according to Belgian accounting principles.
  • You prepare the file for the month-end closing.
  • You work closely with the external fiduciaire for the month-end closing.
  • You coordinate VAT returns, Intrastat reporting, and other periodic returns.
  • You act as the contact person for auditors, the tax authorities, and the social inspection.
  • You collect the necessary documentation for audits and inspections.
  • You support the monthly reporting to Group Finance.
  • You perform various daily accounting tasks within a small and practical finance environment.
  • You have at least three years of operational accounting experience within an SME or small business.
  • You possess thorough knowledge of Belgian accounting.
  • You are familiar with Belgian VAT regulations and standard statutory reporting.
  • You have experience collaborating with a fiduciaire for the month-end closing.
  • Experience within a group structure or start-up is a plus.
  • You hold a degree in accounting or finance.
  • An equivalent level through relevant experience is also considered.
  • You are proficient in French at a native level or are bilingual.
  • You possess fluent business knowledge of English.
  • Knowledge of Dutch is a strong plus.
  • You possess strong Excel skills.
  • You are willing to learn to work with Odoo.
  • You are available for 20 to 25 hours per week, spread across the work week.
  • You work autonomously, structured, and accurately.
  • You handle financial information discreetly.
  • You are result-oriented and take responsibility for correct follow-up.
