Transport Planner

FindCore are thrilled to be assisting an established and growing transport business with the recruitment of a Transport Planner.

Permanent, full-time position based in Beeston, Nottingham .

This is a busy operational role suited to someone with strong transport planning experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced traffic environment, coordinating workloads and delivering excellent service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily transport movements and workloads.
• Manage schedules and respond quickly to changing operational requirements.
• Liaise with drivers, customers and internal teams throughout the day.
• Ensure transport activity is organised efficiently and meets customer deadlines.
• Maintain accurate transport records and update relevant systems.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers.
• Resolve operational issues and delays effectively.
• Ensure activity is completed in line with transport legislation and company procedures.
• Support the wider transport team in maintaining high service levels.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within transport planning, traffic operations or transport coordination.
• Good understanding of transport legislation.
• Experience working within a busy transport or logistics environment.
• Strong telephone manner and customer service skills.
• Excellent organisation and ability to work to strict deadlines.
• Confident working independently and using initiative.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good IT skills and experience using transport systems would be advantageous.
• Commercial awareness and previous sales experience would be beneficial.
• Reliable, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
