We are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants for a large college group across Portsmouth, Winchester and surrounding areas.
We have opportunities supporting both SEND and mainstream learners, with a range of permanent and temporary positions available.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide academic, pastoral and practical support to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential. Depending on the role, you may provide:
- 1:1 and small-group support
- In-class learning support
- Support for learners with SEND and additional learning needs
- Academic and pastoral support
- Support with independence, engagement and progression
- Assistance with overcoming barriers to learning
- Collaboration with teaching staff and wider support teams
About You
We are looking for candidates with experience in education, SEND, learning support, teaching assistance or similar settings. Experience supporting learners with learning difficulties, disabilities, autism, ADHD or other additional needs is particularly relevant for SEND positions. Candidates should have strong communication skills, patience, good judgement and the ability to adapt their approach to individual learners . Level 3 education or equivalent experience is desirable.
