If you're an experienced Paraplanner with Level 6 qualifications, a strong technical background and the ambition to keep developing, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

A highly regarded and growing Independent Financial Planning business on the outskirts of Woking is looking to strengthen its existing Paraplanning team with an experienced professional who knows their craft and takes pride in producing work to the highest standard.

You'll support Financial Advisers working with high-net-worth clients, tackle complex financial planning requirements and play an important part in delivering high-quality advice. This is a varied, technically demanding role where your judgement, research and recommendations will make a genuine difference.

You'll have the opportunity to get involved in sophisticated cases, contribute to investment discussions and continue developing your expertise within an established, professional team.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

This is much more than report writing. You'll be involved throughout the financial planning process, providing the technical support and analysis advisers need to deliver the right outcomes for their clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Complex Financial Planning: Analyse client fact-finds, meeting notes and existing financial arrangements to build a clear picture of their needs and objectives.
  • Technical Research & Analysis: Undertake detailed pension and investment research, cashflow modelling, inheritance tax planning and portfolio analysis.
  • Suitability Reports: Prepare accurate, well-researched reports and illustrations covering investments, pension transfers, drawdown, protection and inheritance tax planning.
  • Adviser Support: Prepare for client meetings and reviews, providing the research, analysis and recommendations needed to support informed decisions.
  • Investment Research: Assess products, platforms and services to identify appropriate solutions for individual client circumstances.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with advisers and colleagues to ensure cases progress efficiently and business is submitted within agreed timescales.
  • Compliance & Best Practice: Keep abreast of regulatory developments, legislation and industry best practice, ensuring work meets the required standards.
  • Investment Committee: Take an active role in the in-house Investment Committee, contributing to discussions around investment strategy and research.
  • Client Engagement: Attend meetings with Financial Advisers when required and help deliver a professional client experience.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

You'll already have a solid grounding in independent financial planning and the technical ability to handle complex cases with confidence.

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • A Level 4 Diploma in financial planning.
  • At least four years' experience as a Paraplanner within an IFA or wealth management business.
  • Strong technical knowledge of investments, pensions, tax allowances, protection, trusts and inheritance tax planning.
  • Experience using back-office systems such as Intelliflo, wrap platforms, FE Analytics and cashflow planning software.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and producing clear, accurate and professionally written suitability reports.
  • Excellent attention to detail, a conscientious approach and the ability to find practical solutions to complex requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with advisers and colleagues.
  • A professional, collaborative attitude and a commitment to maintaining high standards.

You'll also need to be based within a reasonable commuting distance of Woking.

WHAT'S ON OFFER?

  • Salary up to £50,000 , depending on experience.
  • 25 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays.
  • Discretionary annual bonus.
  • Company pension.
  • Death-in-service cover.
  • Support for ongoing professional development and further qualifications.
  • Free on-site parking.
  • A sociable, professional office environment with an established team.
  • Exposure to high-net-worth clients and complex financial planning cases.
