Technician (m/f/d) Optical Testing

We are looking for up to 3 Technicians (m/f/d) for the optical testing of communication technologies in Berlin-Adlershof in the near future.

Your tasks:

• Carrying out optical measurements on development prototypes and assemblies
• Setup, operation, and maintenance of optical testing and measuring devices such as spectrum analyzer, interferometer, alignment-stages
• Support in the assembly and disassembly of test setups according to specifications
• Application of predefined test procedures and measurement plans for validation
• Structured documentation and recording of measurement results using Microsoft Office or comparable tools
• Verification of data quality regarding plausibility and repeatability
• Support with screening tests, comparative measurements, and parameter sweeps on prototype hardware
• Participation in error analysis of measurement setups as well as hardware problems in the laboratory environment
• Ensuring the correct handling and storage of optical components according to quality specifications

What you bring to the role:

• Completed vocational training as an electronics technician, mechatronics technician, optical technician, or comparable technical qualification
• Experience in handling laboratory equipment such as light sources, power meters, or optical fibers in R&D environments
• Basic knowledge of optics including fibers, connectors, or lens mounting processes
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed instructions in the testing process
• Knowledge of data acquisition and documentation under Windows operating systems with programs such as Excel or Word
• Initial practical experience with data visualization tools e.g. Matlab or Python is desirable
• Understanding of calibration, quality, and safety guidelines in the laboratory area
• Basic English skills required for international communication
