Purchasing Director (M/F)
Job Description:
I am Florian Boutin, a consultant at the recruitment firm Fed Supply, specializing in Supply Chain recruitment: Purchasing, Procurement, Logistics, Import-Export, Sales Administration, and Customer Service. I am currently supporting one of my clients, an international industrial group operating in the automotive sector, in the recruitment of their future Purchasing Director (M/F) on a permanent contract (CDI).
Reporting to General Management, you are responsible for defining and deploying the purchasing strategy for an international industrial scope. Both a strategist and an operational professional, you support production sites in their daily challenges, drive purchasing performance, and actively contribute to securing the supply chain. You work in close collaboration with industrial management, quality and logistics teams, and strategic suppliers to support the group's development. This position involves regular international travel to maintain close proximity with local teams and industrial partners.
Missions Define and implement the purchasing strategy
- Lead negotiations for strategic contracts
Lead and support purchasing teams distributed across several production sites Guarantee purchasing competitiveness by balancing economic performance, quality, lead times, and risk management Develop and manage a high-performing supplier panel
- Participate in the digitalization of purchasing processes and the deployment of performance management tools
Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and environmental requirements applicable to the group's activities Contribute to CSR initiatives by developing responsible supplier partnerships and solutions with a lower environmental impact;

Profile Description:
With a higher education background (Master's degree/Bac +5), you have significant experience of at least 15 years in industrial purchasing. It is imperative that you have evolved within a demanding industrial environment, ideally within the automotive sector or a high-volume manufacturing industry. You master international negotiations, the management of strategic suppliers, as well as the management of purchasing teams in a multi-site context. You possess a good knowledge of quality standards and issues related to Supply Chain performance, as well as a sensitivity to environmental issues. Fluency in English is indispensable to operate in an international context. Leadership, the ability to unite teams, a hands-on approach, pragmatism, and excellent negotiation skills will be essential assets to succeed in this position.
