Maintenance Fitter Hourly rate – £17.43 (plus benefits) Hours – 42.5 hours per week, Sunday-Thursday Location & Postcode – Worcestershire, WR10 2LW As a Maintenance Fitter at FCC Environment, you will help ensure that Company vehicles, plant and equipment are maintained and operated safely and efficiently. You will carry out repair and maintenance work effectively, helping to keep vehicles, plant and equipment in good working condition. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working Sunday-Thursday. Our promise to you - Competitive salary - 29 days of annual leave - Pension scheme - On-the-job training and progression opportunities - Recognition scheme - Refer a friend scheme - Flexible benefits, including high street savings, cycle to work scheme and Gymflex membership, and many more (where applicable) - Access to an Employee Assistance Programme and Best Doctors Service via the Wellbeing Platform What will you be doing? - Maintaining Company equipment, vehicles and plant to ensure their continued safe and efficient operation. - Carrying out planned routine and preventative maintenance and keeping appropriate maintenance and repair records. - Investigating equipment failures and rectifying defects in a timely manner. - Carrying out minor repairs and defect rectification. - Ensuring materials, tools and equipment are available to meet the needs of the maintenance department. - Liaising with external agencies and private contractors to support the maintenance and upkeep of facilities. - Assisting with the instruction of other appropriate staff in the daily operation of associated plant and machinery. - Carrying out modifications and improvement activities to help reduce vehicle, plant and equipment downtime. - Carrying out checks on machinery, plant and equipment in accordance with planned maintenance. - Replacing worn parts where required and supporting the reordering of essential workshop spares. - Following the Company's Health and Safety Policy and maintaining safe working practices. What are we looking for? - A demonstrable understanding of the importance of Health & Safety. - An understanding of safe systems of work and safety documentation. - City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or similar is preferred. - Good verbal and written English communication skills. - The ability to read and follow instructions. - A Health and Safety-minded approach. - Good customer service skills. - An enthusiastic and committed approach, with the ability to work independently and use your own initiative. - Adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to take on a variety of different tasks and machinery. - A reliable, honest and trustworthy approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. - A full clean driving licence.
