Technical Superintendent (Bunker)

Faststream is partnering with an established Singapore shipping company that operates its own fleet of bunker tankers in the Port of Singapore. They're adding a Technical Superintendent to their shore-based technical team, reporting to the Technical Manager and taking full technical responsibility for an assigned group of vessels.

This is a hands-on role in a high-utilisation, fast-turnaround fleet, where vessel availability directly drives the business. You'll keep the ships compliant, supplying and within budget, and you'll be the technical point of contact across departments.

What you'll be doing

• Keeping assigned bunker tankers operationally ready and compliant with flag state, class and oil terminal requirements.
• Managing off-hire and downtime tightly to get vessels back into service as quickly as possible.
• Driving vessel performance through fuel management, budget control and the company's planned maintenance system.
• Closing out audit non-conformances and observations within deadline.
• Planning and attending scheduled and unscheduled dry dockings.
• Reviewing and evaluating crew performance.
• Following up third-party claims and supporting the HSSE team on incident investigations through to the final report.
• Reporting back at internal technical meetings and supporting other departments as needed.

What you'll bring

• A Diploma in Engineering, or a recognised degree in Maritime Studies or a related field.
• At least 2 years as a Technical Superintendent or in a comparable shore-based technical role, ideally with bunker, harbour or coastal vessels.
• Familiarity with Singapore port and MPA requirements for bunker vessels, which is a strong advantage.
• Seagoing experience, which is an advantage but not essential.
• A track record in tough negotiations, for example with shipyards, vendors or claims counterparties.
• Willingness to travel for short overseas assignments.
• Solid working proficiency in MS Office.
