Business Development Manager - Marine & Ship Repair

Faststream Recruitment is delighted to be the exclusive partner to represent a well-established marine and ship-repair company seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth across international markets. The Opportunity This is a key commercial role focused on developing new business and strengthening relationships with shipowners, ship managers and maritime stakeholders. The successful candidate will leverage an established network to generate new ship-repair opportunities and build long-term client relationships. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute business development strategies to grow ship-repair revenue. Identify and secure new ship-repair, dry-docking, maintenance and marine engineering opportunities. Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, ship managers, technical superintendents, fleet managers and procurement teams. Leverage an existing international network to generate enquiries and new business. Focus on container vessel owners/operators and other commercial shipping clients. Manage RFQs, tenders, quotations, commercial negotiations and contract discussions. Work closely with technical and operations teams to develop competitive repair proposals and ensure successful project delivery. Monitor vessel movements, dry-docking schedules, market developments and competitor activity. Attend client meetings, vessel visits, shipyards and relevant maritime industry events. Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide regular commercial forecasts and market intelligence. Support estimation, billing and commercial documentation where required. Requirements Up to 10+ years' experience in business development, sales or commercial roles within ship repair, shipyard, marine engineering or ship management. Proven track record in securing ship-repair or marine service contracts. Strong existing network of shipowners and ship managers. Experience working with container vessels and their technical/commercial stakeholders would be highly advantageous. Strong understanding of ship repair, dry-docking, maintenance and marine engineering services. Strong commercial negotiation and client relationship management skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Willingness to travel internationally to meet clients and develop new business. Commercially driven, proactive and capable of independently developing a sales pipeline.
