Treasurer

Our client, a leading and reputable Mortgage Bank, seeks an experienced and strategic-thinking Treasurer to oversee the Bank’s treasury operations and financial resources. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in strengthening the Bank’s liquidity and funding position, ensuring the efficient deployment of cash and investment portfolios, managing financial risks, and supporting sustainable financial performance.

The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of treasury management, financial markets, regulatory requirements, and the unique funding and liquidity dynamics of the banking sector.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement effective treasury and liquidity management strategies. Monitor the Bank’s daily cash position, liquidity levels, and funding requirements. Manage the Bank’s investments, placements, and other treasury activities. Maintain relationships with banks, financial institutions, and other relevant stakeholders. Manage the Bank’s borrowing and funding arrangements. Monitor interest rate, liquidity, and other financial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies. Prepare regular treasury, liquidity, cash flow, and investment reports for management. Ensure compliance with CBN regulations, internal policies, and applicable financial market requirements. Support the development of the Bank’s funding and investment strategies. Monitor market trends and provide recommendations on interest rates, investments, and funding opportunities. Ensure effective cash management and optimal utilization of available funds.

Requirements

BSc /HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, CFA, is an added advantage. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in treasury, financial management, banking, or related sector Experience in a banking or mortgage finance environment is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of liquidity management, cash management, investments, and financial markets. Good understanding of CBN regulatory requirements and banking operations. Strong analytical, numerical, communication, and negotiation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant financial/treasury management systems.

Salary: N500,000 – N750,000
