Your mission at Expliseat: You will be responsible for the complete development of a seat range on a given platform. You will intervene throughout the entire product life cycle, from its design phase (definition of architectures, management of mechanical studies and sub-assemblies), to its certification by the competent authorities, through to its evolution. Your objective: to guarantee technical consistency, regulatory compliance, and the overall performance of the seat throughout its entire lifespan. Your main responsibilities:
- Lead development and ETSO certification
Supervise the development of a seat range on a given platform, from concept definition to obtaining final ETSO certification.
Ensure cross-functional coordination of mechanical design, calculation simulation, and testing activities, guaranteeing compliance with aeronautical standards and specific customer requirements.
As the technical lead of the project, work in close collaboration with internal teams (Design, Simulation, Certification, Project Management…) and external partners (suppliers, laboratories, authorities).
Draft specifications to precisely define the needs of seat sub-assemblies for the Modules and Advanced Concepts teams.
Prepare and actively participate in Design Reviews to validate technical choices and development progress.
Participate in the organization of test campaigns and manage certification technical documentation (plans, validations, MasterBOM, test reports…).
- Guarantee product performance and quality
Be the guarantor of mass, cost, comfort, aesthetics, and mechanical performance objectives of the product.
Analyze and validate the integration of sub-assemblies into the seat structure and their interfaces with modules.
Propose innovative technical solutions to meet customer needs.
Ensure product traceability and compliance throughout the development process.
- Support production implementation and product evolution
Collaborate closely with Manufacturing teams to guarantee manufacturability, repeatability, and product quality from the first prototypes to series production.
Prepare and validate series seat configurations for the factory (FAI, series production).
Be the guarantor of the seat range during its series life and lead necessary evolutions or improvements during operation.
Actively participate in evolution projects or new variants (Business Class, Recline, etc.).
Your profile:
Engineering degree in mechanics, aeronautics, or product design.
Minimum 10 years of experience in the development of complex products in an industrial environment (ideally aeronautics).
Solid understanding of aeronautical standards and the ETSO certification process.
Mastery of CAD tools (SolidWorks or equivalent).
Experience in Business Class seat development would be a major asset.
Professional English is indispensable.
Autonomy, technical rigor, pragmatism, attention to detail, and a strong ability to work in a team.
