For one of the largest manufacturers of industrial battery systems, we are looking for a Welding Specialist Engineer (m/f/d) for the location in Zwickau.

What to expect:

• First article inspection of EN15085 welding assemblies (CL1 & CL2) at domestic and international suppliers, including inspection of welding documentation
• Reporting & tracking of welding acceptances as well as definition and monitoring of corrective actions
• Coordination with suppliers regarding work samples and evaluation of welding manufacturability during the design phase
• Support for incoming goods inspection in case of welding technical irregularities and decision-making with the quality department
• Execution of supplier audits with quality assurance and purchasing, including audit reports, corrective actions, and implementation control
• Close cooperation with the company's welding supervision and communication with the customer's welding supervision if required

What you bring to the role:

• Successfully completed studies as a Welding Specialist Engineer (IWE) or Welding Technician (IWT) with profound specialist knowledge
• Experience in the first article inspection of welding construction components, supplier audits, and ideally VT2 inspection
• Confident handling of EN15085 (Welding of railway vehicles)
• Knowledge of laser welding is desirable
• Proficient in MS Office and CAD systems
• Good written and spoken English skills
• Mobile and willing to travel
