Senior Hardware DevOps Engineer (Linux & Bare Metal)

About the company

Within Exotec's Infra Core team, you will design, deploy, and ensure the reliability of the infrastructures that support our robotic solutions. At the crossroads of hardware, Linux systems, and DevOps, you will work on varied technical issues, from bare metal diagnostics to the operation of on-premises Kubernetes clusters, both in the laboratory and in production and at client sites.

Your tasks

Your mission Do you like understanding systems from end to end, from hardware to Linux services, and solving complex technical problems?

You will also contribute to the automation of operations and the continuous improvement of system reliability and quality.

Your responsibilities

• Hardware, Linux, and reliability: diagnose and resolve bare metal incidents, administer and optimize Debian Linux systems, particularly service management and performance analysis.
• Network and interoperability: analyze end-to-end communications to identify and resolve connectivity, configuration, and interoperability issues between systems and equipment.
• Kubernetes and deployment: contribute to the design, deployment, and operation of on-premises Kubernetes clusters, taking into account hardware, network, and storage constraints, as well as their integration into their lifecycle.
• Automation and quality: develop scripts and tools in Bash and Python, automate operations with Ansible, and promote Infrastructure as Code, testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices.
• Expertise and collaboration: take charge of complex technical issues, identify the root causes of incidents, support project teams during deployments, and contribute to the skill development of junior profiles.

Requirements

Your profile

• Higher education in computer science or equivalent, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar position.
• Solid mastery of Linux, ideally in Debian environments, and experience in bare metal incident diagnostics.
• Good understanding of the interactions between hardware, operating system, network, and equipment.
• Good mastery of Bash, Python, and Ansible to automate system operations.
• Mastery of Docker or runtimes compatible with the CRI interface.
• Knowledge of source code management tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to formalize technical solutions and write clear specifications.
• Fluent English, autonomy, team spirit, and results orientation.

Pluses for your application

• Experience with Kubernetes, especially in on-premises environments.
• Practice with GitLab and other programming languages.
• Experience in an Agile environment or on infrastructure and development platforms.
