The Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA) offers Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services and resources to Federal Department of Justice employees and their eligible family members, including confidential counseling and referrals. We provide EOUSA and U.S. Attorneys Office employees, as well as their immediate family members, with free, confidential support for personal and professional challenges.

Major duties

This position serves as Social Worker on the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Staff of the Executive Office for United States Attorneys, Human Resources Staff. Duties include: Develops a strategy and implementation plan for program outreach initiatives. Assesses client treatment needs and coordinates available community resources. Identifies and selects those resources which will best meet the client's needs, this includes type of resource, facilities, and cost. Conducts training sessions for all levels of staff, including employees, senior officials, midlevel managers and first-line supervisors. Prepares and presents briefings regarding controversial and novel issues, participates in drafting and negotiating joint reports, and assures senior level officials are informed of developments in a timely manner. Provides crisis response services as required by the Director, EOUSA and as requested by the U.S. Attorney. Crisis response may include immediate travel to the district, to provide support (in the form of critical incident stress debriefings, educational or process group meetings, individual sessions, and coordination of local resources) to staff, management, and families in the event of an employee suicide, other death, or other tragedy.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements AND specialized experience requirement. Basic Requirement: Applicants must possess a degree in social work that fulfills all of the requirements for the Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Applicants MUST submit a transcript. Failure to provide the required documents will render you not eligible for consideration. AND Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. AND Specialized Experience: To be eligible at the GS-13 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as experience assessing the nature and extent of individuals' concerns; developing collaborative plans to improve their circumstances; providing appropriate assistance and services; and coordinating referrals to community resources and partner organizations as needed. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP) - The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
