Engineering Manager
Job Summary
Lead and guide a team of design engineers to develop semiconductor equipment, drive continuous improvement programs, and resolve technical issues to ensure optimal product performance and competitiveness.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of design engineers to design and develop semiconductor equipment from module to machine conceptualization
- Plan and execute Continuous Improvement Programs (CIP) to extend product life cycle, enhance competitiveness, and improve gross margins
- Conduct reliability and feasibility tests and verifications to validate product designs
- Provide technical support to Sales by reviewing specifications, costing, and product evaluations
- Diagnose and resolve technical field issues within the product family to maintain product reliability
- Monitor and ensure product performance on site to meet operational standards
- Review and assess Sales and Service enquiries for technical feasibility and requirements
- Perform design and mechanical drawing reviews and maintain accurate documentation
- Investigate design issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Execute other tasks assigned by supervisors aligned with business needs
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline
- 5 to 8 years of experience in automation or semiconductor machine design
- Strong technical knowledge in semiconductor equipment development involving ultra-high precision and high-speed mechanisms
- Proficient in technical drawing using Creo or SolidWorks
- Knowledge of semiconductor packaging and assembly processes
- Experience as a technical leader with project management skills
- Demonstrated systematic problem-solving abilities
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and guide direct reports
