Senior LCS Enigneer (6-month Renewable Contract)

Your tasks

We are seeking an experienced LCS/SCADA Engineer to support the implementation, integration, and maintenance of industrial automation systems in a high-tech manufacturing environment. This role will be involved in factory automation projects, including new facility setup, system commissioning, production system integration, and ongoing technical support.

The successful candidate will work closely with IT, OT, engineering, operations, and external vendors to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient manufacturing operations.

Automation Systems & Integration

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Line Control Systems (LCS), SCADA platforms, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Integrate production equipment and factory systems with MES, APS, and automated material handling systems (AMHS).
• Support system architecture design, equipment installation, commissioning, and site acceptance testing.
• Develop monitoring dashboards, alarms, and reports to track system performance and production downtime.

System Administration & Infrastructure

• Manage Windows Server, Linux, and relevant real-time operating systems supporting industrial automation.
• Deploy containerized applications using Docker and manage Kubernetes or OpenShift environments where required.
• Maintain system availability, backups, disaster recovery capabilities, and configuration management.
• Coordinate system upgrades, security patching, and preventive maintenance while minimizing production disruptions.

Project Implementation & Commissioning

• Participate in new factory and greenfield automation projects, from planning and vendor coordination through deployment and commissioning.
• Support vendor selection, project scoping, and implementation activities.
• Develop technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials for operations and maintenance teams.

Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement

• Troubleshoot LCS, SCADA, PLC, and industrial communication issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Improve system reliability, automation efficiency, operational safety, and manufacturing performance.
• Provide technical guidance and support to engineers, operators, and maintenance teams.

Industrial Cybersecurity & Compliance

• Implement security controls across IT and OT environments, including access management, network segmentation, firewalls, and system hardening.
• Support security assessments, audits, and risk mitigation activities.
• Maintain alignment with relevant industrial cybersecurity and manufacturing standards, including IEC 62443, ISO 27001, and applicable IEC, SEMI, UL, and CE requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Automation, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience working with LCS, SCADA, PLC, and industrial automation systems.
• Experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation platforms.
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming, control systems, instrumentation, HMI configuration, data historians, and reporting tools.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for scripting, data queries, and automation logic.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, OPC-UA, Modbus RTU/TCP, RS422/485, SECS/GEM, and CC-Link IE.
• Experience with system architecture, integration, site testing, and commissioning.
• Understanding of manufacturing systems such as MES, APS, and AMHS.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Good to Have

• Experience delivering automation systems for greenfield factories or start-up manufacturing facilities.
• Exposure to Industry 4.0/5.0, smart factory technologies, and Industrial IoT (IIoT).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• Knowledge of robotics, predictive maintenance, and industrial cybersecurity.
• Experience developing preventive maintenance strategies and disaster recovery procedures.
