Key Responsibilities

• Own the operating process and day-to-day coordination for weekly accelerated patching and urgent 3-day patching cases end-to-end.
• Manage assigned accelerated patch cycles from scope confirmation through readiness, testing, deployment, live verification, reconciliation and closure.
• Maintain cycle plans, RACI matrices, action logs, decision deadlines, approvals, dependencies, risks and escalation status.
• Coordinate patch readiness across infrastructure, middleware, network, application, security, service recovery and change management teams.
• Track patch scope, change request readiness, approved exceptions, deferments, exclusions, failed patches, rollback actions and outstanding validation evidence.
• Coordinate cross-team hand-offs, escalations and operational readiness throughout each patching cycle.
• Support rostered overnight, weekend and public-holiday patching activities, including bridge coordination and handover to accountable decision owners.
• Define and maintain SOPs, control gates, cut-off times, escalation paths, duty coverage and exception routes for regular and urgent patching processes.
• Coordinate process walkthroughs, readiness reviews, dress rehearsals and transition activities into BAU operations.
• Compile patch case closure records and support preparation of SLA, operational risk and compliance evidence.
• Ensure all required patching evidence, approvals, validations and closure activities are completed within the required timelines.
• Identify recurring process, ownership or operational gaps and raise improvement requirements to relevant tooling, data and automation teams.
• Support continuous improvement of patching processes, operational controls and cross-team coordination.
• Maintain strong stakeholder follow-up and ensure outstanding actions and dependencies are tracked through to resolution.

Key Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in infrastructure operations, patch management, change coordination, service delivery or technology process governance.
• Hands-on knowledge of Open Systems administration, including Windows, Linux/Unix and server patching principles.
• Working knowledge of middleware administration and patching, such as WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Apache HTTPD, Tomcat or equivalent platforms.
• Experience coordinating production changes across infrastructure, middleware and application teams.
• Working knowledge of change request (CRQ) processes, exception handling, risk acceptance, rollback procedures and post-patch validation.
• Experience managing patching activities across multiple technology teams and coordinating end-to-end operational readiness.
• Strong understanding of patching governance, including scope management, approvals, deferments, exclusions, failed patches and closure evidence.
• Comfortable supporting overnight, weekend and public-holiday activities when required by patch windows.
• Strong documentation, stakeholder follow-up, issue triage, escalation and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple patching cycles, dependencies and deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong understanding of SOPs, RACI, control gates, escalation paths and operational readiness.
• Strong attention to detail with a disciplined approach to evidence tracking and closure.
• ITIL certification or equivalent service-management experience is preferred.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise infrastructure or financial services environments would be advantageous.
