Disability Assessor Nurses | Occupational Therapists | Physiotherapists | Paramedics | Pharmacists

Full-time | Monday–Friday | 9am–5pm Part time available - 3/4 days Location: Luton Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 - (+ 1k at 6/12 months - performance based)

What you need:

  • At least 1 year of recent post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting
  • At least 1 year of active NMC, HCPC or GPHC registration
  • Strong communication and assessment skills
  • Excellent report-writing and typing skills
  • Good IT skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own caseload
  • PIP assessments - 3 a day
  • WCA assesseents -5/6 a day

What will you be doing?

As a Functional Assessor, you will:

  • Conduct telephone and face-to-face assessments with claimants
  • Explore how health conditions affect everyday activities and work
  • Review medical evidence and health questionnaires
  • Ask detailed questions about functional ability
  • Use your critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills
  • Produce clear, accurate and objective reports for the DWP
  • Make recommendations based on your assessment findings

  • Assessment techniques
  • DWP guidelines and requirements
  • Report writing
  • Functional assessment skills
  • Role-specific training and support

You don't need previous Functional Assessor experience — your clinical experience and transferable assessment skills are what matter.
