Quantity Surveyor (Industrial Buildings)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially sharp Quantity Surveyor (Tender/Pre-Contract) to join our estimation and bidding team. In this role, you will lead the financial evaluation, quantity take-offs, and cost planning for large-scale industrial building tenders You will be responsible for ensuring our bid submissions are highly competitive, accurate, risk-mitigated, and aligned with technical specifications for complex industrial infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate take-offs: Measure quantities for structural steel, heavy foundations, and industrial MEP systems from engineering layouts.
• Compile Bills of Quantities: Generate structured BQs and pricing schedules based on standard measurement rules.
• Review tender documents: Analyze technical specifications and architectural drawings to identify scope gaps or errors.
• Source subcontractor quotes: Float inquiries and compile detailed cost comparison sheets to normalize external bids.
• Develop cost estimates: Build analytical unit rate breakdowns for material, plant, and labor costs.
• Mitigate bidding risks: Conduct risk assessments for market volatility and prepare final compliant tender submissions.

Key Requirements

• Professional Qualifications: Hold a Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related Construction management discipline.
• Industrial Project Experience: Possess at least 3 to 5 years of proven pre-contract experience specializing in heavy industrial buildings, warehouses, or processing plants.
• Technical Measurement Skills: Demonstrated expertise in performing accurate take-offs for structural steelwork, heavy foundations, and industrial MEP services.
• Software Proficiency: Highly proficient in digital measurement and estimation software such as Cubicost (TAS/TRB), CostX, or Bluebeam , alongside advanced MS Excel skills.
• Commercial & Contractual Acumen: Strong familiarity with local standard methods of measurement ( SMM7 / CESMM ) and standard forms of contract (e.g., SIA or PSSCOC).
• Communication & Negotiation: Excellent negotiation and analytical skills to effectively source, analyze, and normalize complex sub-contractor and vendor quotes.
