Civil Surveyor
Responsibilities:
Conduct topographical, land, boundary, construction, and engineering surveys at project sites. Establish and maintain site benchmarks, reference points, coordinates, and control points. Carry out setting-out works for foundations, buildings, roads, drainage, utilities, structures, and other civil works. Verify dimensions, levels, elevations, alignments, and coordinates as per approved drawings. Conduct accurate measurements and prepare survey data for construction activities. Monitor construction works to ensure they are executed as per approved drawings and specifications. Perform as-built surveys and prepare accurate as-built records. Prepare survey reports, field notes, measurement sheets, and relevant documentation. Coordinate with civil engineers, site engineers, architects, contractors, consultants, and project managers. Review construction drawings and identify discrepancies between drawings and actual siteconditions. Assist in calculating quantities, levels, earthwork measurements, cut-and-fill requirements, and other site measurements. Conduct periodic checks to ensure the accuracy of ongoing construction works. Operate and maintain surveying equipment such as total station, auto level, GPS/GNSS, dumpy level, and related instruments. Ensure surveying instruments are properly calibrated and maintained. Maintain proper records of survey data, coordinates, benchmarks, and site measurements. Support the preparation of project progress measurements and contractor bills where required. Identify and report any deviations in levels, alignment, dimensions, or positioning to the relevant project team. Ensure all survey activities comply with project quality, safety, and technical requirements. Coordinate with local authorities, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders when required. Perform other surveying and site-related duties assigned by the project manager or civil engineering team.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field. 8–15 years of relevant experience in civil construction surveying. Strong experience in setting out and surveying for industrial, factory, commercial, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects. Hands-on experience with Total Station, Auto Level, GPS/GNSS, and other surveying instruments. Good knowledge of construction drawings, coordinates, levels, benchmarks, and setting-out procedures. Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, architectural, and site development drawings. Good knowledge of earthwork, foundations, roads, drainage, utilities, and structural works.
Experience in preparing survey reports, as-built drawings, and measurement records. Knowledge of AutoCAD and relevant surveying/Civil Engineering software. Good understanding of surveying standards, construction practices, and site safety requirements. Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage surveying activities at a large project site. Good communication and coordination skills.

Location: Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria
Remuneration: NGN 450,000 - 750,000 Monthly
