Your tasks

In a world with highly advanced technology and complex external threats, Etterretningstjenesten must continuously develop new methods and capacities. We are therefore strengthening our organization at Forsvarets stasjon Andøya with a senior engineer sensor systems. The position will be part of a group that operates computer systems, networks, and communication systems. As a senior engineer, you will have tasks within design, operation, development, and maintenance within this professional field.

• Participate in design, installation, operation, and development within the professional field of sensor systems
• Participate in the implementation of technical installations

Requirements

Qualifications The position has the following requirements that must be met to be considered a relevant applicant:

• Bachelor's degree or education at an equivalent level (cand.-degrees, former engineering educations, etc.) or scope within a relevant professional field. Several years of relevant experience with good results may compensate for the education requirement.
• Relevant technical service
• Long, versatile experience from planning, installation, and operation of networks and communication systems
• Good English skills
• Driver's license class B

In addition, it is desirable if you have

• Experience in the operation of large ICT systems
• Knowledge of Etterretningstjenesten, the Forsvarets organization, and activities
• Experience from project work
• Experience from international operations

Special requirements for a position in Etterretningstjenesten Applicants must satisfy the requirements for the highest security clearance.

For employment in Etterretningstjenesten, one cannot have any citizenship other than Norwegian at the time of employment.

You will receive an annual salary within the range of NOK 690,000 – 830,000 in the position of senior engineer (code: 1087) according to the current Hovedtariffavtale. Final salary placement depends on qualifications.

The position is subject to compulsory mobilization, cf. the Forsvarsloven and the Forsvarstilsatteforskriften, which means that you can be ordered to international operations. This normally occurs on the basis of willingness. Compulsory mobilization entails requirements for medical and physical fitness and basic English skills. If you do not meet the requirements, you have the opportunity to apply for an exemption.
