Etterretningstjenesten – Knowledge of the world for the protection of Norway The task of Etterretningstjenesten is to collect and process information about foreign states and foreign actors. We do this, among other things, through cyber operations, where information is gathered from the internet, networks, and other digital sources. Here, you will be allowed to conduct redteaming and pentesting without client contact or report writing, but rather focus on what you are good at!

Requirements

The job requires more than just skills in the terminal. You must be able to think creatively and find new solutions to the challenges you encounter.

Qualifications The position has the following requirements that must be met to be considered a relevant applicant:

• Bachelor's degree or education at an equivalent level (cand.-degrees, formerly Engineering education, etc.) or scope within a relevant field. Several years of relevant experience with good results may compensate for the education requirement.
• Good technical understanding and experience with information security
• Experience from a relevant field

To be employed in the position of senioringeniør, the following is additionally required:

• Master's degree or education at an equivalent level (hovedfag, professional studies, etc.) or scope within a relevant field. Several years of relevant experience with good results may compensate for the education requirement.

Additionally, it is desirable if you have

• Knowledge of security in OS (Windows and Linux), networks, and hardening
• Experience with embedded-systemer
• Experience with network setup including monitoring, routing, VPN, etc.
• Experience with penetration testing
• Ability to script/program in high-level languages, e.g., Python and bash
• Experience with cloud services

You will receive an annual salary within the range of NOK 690,000 – 830,000 in the position of overingeniør (code:1087) or within the range of NOK 785,000 – 980,000 in the position of senioringeniør (code:1181) according to the current Hovedtariffavtale. For particularly qualified applicants, higher salary may be considered. Final salary placement depends on qualifications.

The position is subject to compulsory service, cf. forsvarsloven and forsvarstilsatteforskriften, which means that you can be ordered to international operations. This normally occurs on the basis of willingness. Compulsory service entails requirements for medical and physical fitness and basic English skills.
