Etterretningstjenesten – Knowledge of the world for the protection of Norway

The mission of Etterretningstjenesten is to collect information and provide warnings about conditions abroad that could threaten Norway and Norwegian interests.

With us, you will participate in developing, shaping, and managing our solutions on the Windows and Vmware platform.

The main task of the position will be server solutions based on Windows. You will receive tasks that allow you to use the competence you already have, as well as acquire new knowledge and further develop within the field.

You will have the opportunity to further develop and acquire competence in the automation of deployment, patching, and maintenance of OS's. The way forward for how we will make services available to our users. You must take a position on how a workflow should look in an air-gapped environment and work to minimize the impact this has on our daily work.

Work tasks

• Deployment and maintenance of Windows servers.
• Develop and maintain support systems.

• Create systems and pipelines that automate processes.
• Prepare technical documentation and disseminate knowledge within the field.

Qualifications

The position has the following requirements that must be met to be considered a relevant applicant:

For overingeniør

• Bachelor's degree or education at an equivalent level (cand.-degrees, former Engineering educations, etc.) or scope within a relevant field. Other technical education and several years of relevant experience with good results may compensate for the education requirement.

For senioringeniør

• Master's degree or education at an equivalent academic level. Other education and long relevant experience with good results may, upon assessment, compensate for a lack of formal education beyond a bachelor's degree or education at an equivalent level.

For both position codes:

• Experience with operation and maintenance of Windows 10/11
• Experience with one or more scripting languages (Powershell ++)

In addition, it is desirable if you have:

• More than 1 year of experience in the operation of Microsoft Windows operating systems
• Experience with the use of other automation tools

• Experience with the operation and maintenance of Microsoft Exchange and Skype
• Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy.

• Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager or SCCM.
• Experience with VMware products such as Workspace One, Horizon.

• Good knowledge of Windows administration

Special requirements for a position in Etterretningstjenesten:

Applicants must satisfy the requirements for the highest security clearance.

For employment in Etterretningstjenesten, one cannot have anything other than Norwegian citizenship at the time of employment.

The position is subject to compulsory service, cf. the Defense Act and the Defense Personnel Regulations, which implies that you can be ordered to international operations. This normally occurs on the basis of willingness. Compulsory service entails requirements for medical and physical fitness and basic English skills. If you do not meet the requirements, you have the opportunity to apply for an exemption.

As overingeniør (code: 1087) you will receive an annual salary within the range of NOK 690,000 – 830,000 according to the current Hovedtariffavtale. As senioringeniør (code: 1181) you will receive an annual salary within the range of NOK 785,000 – 980,000 according to the current Hovedtariffavtale.

For particularly qualified applicants, higher salary may be considered. Final salary placement and position code depend on qualifications.
