The mission of the Intelligence Service is to collect information and provide warnings about conditions abroad that may threaten Norway and Norwegian interests.
We are now seeking a new employee for a temporary position as senior intelligence coordinator at the intelligence section in the Defense Staff. The duration of the position is set to 31.12.2027, with the possibility of extension.

Tasks
- Support the Defense Staff during planning and implementation of operative conditions, including national crisis management and mission coordination.
- Contribute to mutual situational understanding between the intelligence service and strategic military leadership in the Defense Staff.
- Brief military and political leadership routinely on relevant topics.
- Facilitate, and coordinate, routine meetings at the leadership level.
- Operate and administer the intelligence service's facilities in the Defense Staff.
- Leadership support.
Qualifications
The position has the following requirements that must be met to be considered a candidate:
- Master's degree or education at an equivalent level (major, professional studies, etc.) or scope within a relevant field of study. A relevant bachelor's degree or education at an equivalent level, and several years of experience with good results, may compensate for the education requirement.
- Operative service experience*
- Good English skills
- Good knowledge of the Defense's activities and organization
- Operative service means participation in or direct contribution to military operations and force building in an operative unit. Or, experience from relevant operative activity or equivalent.
In addition, it is desirable if you have:
- Experience from international operations
- Service from a situation/operations center
- Approved E-personnel kl. 1
- Service experience from the Intelligence Service
- Relevant staff service*
- Knowledge of Russia politically and militarily
- Relevant staff service means from section, department, or organizational leadership.
Special requirements for a position in the Intelligence Service:
Applicants must satisfy the requirements for the highest security clearance.
For employment in the Intelligence Service, one cannot have any citizenship other than Norwegian at the time of employment.

You will receive an annual salary within the range of NOK 925,000 – 1,030,000 in the position of senior advisor (code: 1364) according to the current Hovedtariffavtale. Final salary placement depends on qualifications. The position is temporary with a duration until 31.12.2027 with the possibility of extension.
