Your tasks
- Sample preparation, cross-sectioning, mounting, grinding, and polishing of PCB and semiconductor package samples.
- Optical microscopy inspections and SEM analysis to support failure analysis and material characterization.
- Evaluate layer thickness, plating quality, via structures, solder joints, and material interfaces by analyzing cross-sectional images.
- Operate laboratory equipment (cross-section preparation tools, optical microscopes, and SEM systems).
- Documentation of inspection results
- Generating technical reports
- Communicate findings to engineers and project stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Engineering, Materials Science, Electronics, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in sample preparation, mounting, grinding, polishing, and cross-sectioning.
- Experienced in operating optical microscopy and SEM equipment.
- Experienced in using image analysis, metrology, and reporting software.
- Able to identify and document defects such as voids, cracks, contamination, and delamination-related issues.
- Exposed to semiconductor packaging and PCB manufacturing process.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and technical documentation skills.
- Thrive in working independently and capable of collaborating effectively with engineering teams
