International Sales Merchandiser - Spain
The International Sales Merchandiser carries the product strategy for their market. They build and adapt the offering to local potential, manage the budget and purchasing commitments, monitor collection performance, and ensure the interface between central teams (Purchasing, Style, Marketing, Supply) and local teams. A true expert in their zone, they are responsible for the proper implementation of the product offering strategy in their market and for feeding local needs back to the global level. They also drive the momentum around the priorities of each season, throughout the entire product life cycle, until its end of life. Main missions:
- Construction and adaptation of the offering: build assortments adapted to the local potential and specificities of each market (climate, culture, size, pricing).
- Budgetary management and commitments: define and manage the purchasing budget by market, with monitoring of volume and turnover commitments. Establish sales forecasts by SKU to secure profitability (turnover, margin, residual, markdown) and anticipate risks of overstock and out-of-stock.
- Performance management: analyze weekly and seasonal KPI (turnover, flow, sell-through rate, margin), build collection reviews, and propose corrective action plans (pricing, product push, animation). Consolidate regional benchmarks, customer insights, and competitive analyses.
- Price positioning and competitive intelligence: guarantee price consistency by market through regular competitive monitoring. Challenge price decisions with the headquarters by mastering local specificities (competition, consumer behavior, prices).
- Strategic interface HQ / market: serve as a relay between central teams (Purchasing, Style, Marketing, Planning, and Supply chain) and local teams, and be the key contact for the zone. Collect and consolidate market needs to feed the global strategy, defend them to the headquarters, and provide visibility to markets regarding the product strategy.
- Market animation and support: present collections (structure, inspirations, global assortments) to regions to give meaning to local teams and unite them around the season's priorities. Be the lead on rituals and governance: Assortment Planning, presentations, purchasing, launches, implantation committees. Lead workshops by zone and formalize the strategy within major redesign projects, in a 360° animation of the zone strategy.
