Responsibilities and duties
- Lead regional activities for accounting, tax/fiscal, closing, consolidation, statutory reporting, and financial governance;
- Ensure the execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with corporate deadlines;
- Establish, maintain, and improve the internal controls environment for the region;
- Coordinate external audit activities and monitor the implementation of action plans;
- Act in partnership with Global Tax and local consultancies to ensure compliance with tax obligations and compliance requirements;
- Lead transformation initiatives and ERP implementation, including process harmonization, testing, migration, go-live, and post-implementation support;
- Promote the standardization of financial processes among South American countries, seeking efficiency, control, and scalability;
- Collaborate with regional and global leadership to improve working capital management, financial visibility, and operational discipline;
- Identify opportunities for organizational, process, and talent improvement, developing and monitoring action plans;
- Conduct continuous improvement, automation, simplification, and optimization initiatives for financial processes;
- Act as a strategic partner to business leadership, supporting decision-making and ensuring high standards of governance and compliance;
- Develop high-performance teams, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and execution discipline;
- Manage multiple priorities in a multinational, dynamic, and matrix environment;
- Build relationships with regional and global stakeholders, including financial leadership, Corporate Controlling, Global Tax, external audits, and ERP and Technology teams
Requirements and qualifications
- Completed higher education in Accounting, Finance, or related fields;
- MBA or postgraduate degree in Finance, Controlling, Accounting, or Tax will be considered a differentiator;
- 12 to 15+ years of experience in financial leadership positions, preferably in industrial multinationals;
- Solid experience in Tax/Fiscal, including compliance, tax planning, tax obligations, and interface with Global Tax;
- Experience in Accounting and Controlling, with involvement in closing, consolidation, financial reporting, and governance;
- Experience in leadership and team development;
- Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, SOX, internal controls, and statutory compliance;
- Experience with SAP and process/ERP transformation;
- Experience in automation, standardization, and continuous improvement of financial and tax processes;
- Advanced/fluent English, with autonomy for communication with global teams and executives;
- Active CRC;
- Fluent Spanish will be considered a differentiator;
- Availability for travel
