Manager, R&D Software Quality (f/m/d) (Head of Software Development)

What you'll be doing

• You will lead and further develop a team of manual and automated Quality Engineers
• You will plan and prioritize testing activities to ensure timely and complete implementation
• You will define and communicate test strategies in accordance with business and regulatory requirements
• You will manage test planning, execution, reporting, and traceability across all testing stages
• You will drive the continuous improvement of quality processes, standards, and automation practices
• You will select and implement suitable test tools, frameworks, and methods
• You will ensure the completeness of system, regression, security, and acceptance testing
• You will work closely with R&D, Product, and Project Management to evaluate deliverables and acceptance criteria
• You will identify risks, process gaps, and audit findings and initiate appropriate measures
• You will provide technical guidance on testing standards, quality management, and regulatory requirements

What we look for

• Completed studies in Computer Science or a comparable field, or equivalent practical experience
• More than 10 years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Experience in leading teams in the area of manual and automated testing
• Sound knowledge of testing tools, automation frameworks, and agile methods (e.g., Scrum or SAFe)
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, cloud solutions, and software development life cycle (SDLC) processes
• Practical experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Ruby) as well as SQL
• Experience in testing APIs and/or mobile applications
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools; Polarion is an advantage
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 11, cGxP) is a plus
• Very good written and spoken English skills
