Technical Support Engineer (Remote support)

Job Summary

We seek a Technical Support Engineer for a permanent night shift (12am-9am) to provide expert-level support in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, resolving complex technical challenges and ensuring excellent partner experience globally from Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert-level technical support via phone and email to resolve partner issues efficiently
• Independently manage and prioritize a ticket backlog to ensure timely resolution of technical problems
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for partner issues involving data backup, recovery, virtualization, storage, and networking to restore service continuity
• Perform advanced data restores, virtualization of backups, and execute cloud failovers to maintain business continuity
• Collaborate with support team members to escalate and resolve complex cases, ensuring continuous case progress

Required competencies and certifications

• Demonstrated 5+ years of experience in technical support, systems engineering, or IT infrastructure roles focused on backup and disaster recovery
• Proven ability to work independently under high-pressure customer situations, including disaster recovery scenarios
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills applied to complex technical issues
• Effective communication skills to manage high-priority incidents and maintain partner confidence under pressure
• In-depth knowledge of image-based backups, cloud failover, and recovery testing methodologies
• Extensive experience with Windows Server (2012 and later), Ubuntu Linux, and virtualization technologies such as KVM/libvirt, VMware ESXi, and Microsoft Hyper-V
• Strong understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and NAT
• Relevant certifications such as MCSE, VCP, and Network+

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Exposure to ZFS file systems, Linux-based storage appliances, and storage technologies including ZFS, RAID, iSCSI, and SMB
• Familiarity with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
