Your tasks
Target In this work, the aim is to deliver a concept of a new dumpbox model for one of Epiroc’s minetrucks. This using Creo, Ansys and other simulation tools. The dumpbox shall be optimized to maximize its load capacity.
Background Our customers want to haul as much ore as possible with each truck. At the same time, the dump box has to be easy to fill and empty and the load has to stay in the dump box throughout the trucks journey through the mine. In addition to this, the overall machine has to fit in a given space in the mine.
Mission Your mission is to generate different dump box concepts and evaluate them against each other given the governing design parameters, such as physical size, strength, manufacturability etc. The end goal is for you to hand over the best way forward in how we at Epiroc design our dumpboxes for our future machines.
Requirements
Knowledge in mechanics and preferably simulation and solid mechanics is needed. It is also valuable to be thorough, a bit stubborn, open minded and appreciate co-operation. We offer this thesis to two students working together, in the Underground Rock Excavation Department in Örebro.
