Business Operations Associate (Student)
Ento brings AI-native automation to energy and facility managers. Our customers range from large municipalities and some of Europe's largest cities to international retail chains and real estate portfolios in Denmark, Italy, France and the UK. Over 70,000 buildings are currently monitored by Ento, helping customers save more than 25,000 tons of CO₂. We are a team of around 15 experienced energy engineers, builders and operators across 4 countries, with offices in Aarhus, Copenhagen and Barcelona. We work in a hybrid setup where some of us are in the office regularly, others join occasionally, and some work fully remote across Europe. We come together in person when it adds value, but our day-to-day way of working is built on trust rather than strict rules, giving everyone a high degree of autonomy. In return, we expect ownership, accountability, and intrinsic motivation.
This Role We are looking for a generalist who wants to see how a startup is run. You will work closely with our COO in Copenhagen on whatever matters most that week, from commercial and finance to customer projects and board material. We are growing fast in revenue, but not in headcount, and that is on purpose. We hire carefully and get more done per person by automating the right things and using good tools and processes. Helping us do more of that is a big part of the job. We use AI tools every day, but we are also very pragmatic. Not everything needs AI. Sometimes a simple Zapier automation, a good spreadsheet or a better process does the job. We want someone who enjoys working out which one fits, and we'll help you get better at it. It is a broad role, but you won't start from scratch. Most of our systems already exist and work, and your job is to improve them and try new things. You will have the COO and the team to work with, and AI tools make a lot of this realistic for a student. You don't need to know how to do all of it from the start, but you should enjoy learning it.
What you'll work on You won't do all of this at once. You'll work on one or two projects at a time, and they'll change as our priorities do. Here are the areas they usually come from: Revenue and customers: Improve the automations and reporting our sales and customer success teams use to follow leads and customers, and help keep the flow from lead to contract to invoice to renewal clean
Strategy and growth: Research new markets and segments, and help prepare material for our board, investors and other stakeholders
Marketing and website: Turn customer results into case studies, one-pagers and campaigns, and help build landing pages on our website
Security and compliance: Support the day-to-day running of our information security and data protection setup
Tools and automation: Try out new tools and automations on existing work, and keep the ones that are useful, secure and easy for others to use
Requirements Enrolled in a master's or bachelor's programme with at least one year of studies left. Business, economics, engineering, computer science and data science are common backgrounds, but what you have done matters more to us than what you study
You have built or improved something yourself and can tell us about it. It doesn't have to be big: a better Excel model, a process you fixed at a student job, a website for a friend's business or a small bot all count
Interested in AI and automation, and able to judge when a tool helps and when it just adds complexity
You like finishing things and you care that the numbers are right
Fluent in English, spoken and written. Danish is a plus
Available 10 to 15 hours per week, with flexibility around exams
Based in Copenhagen, with at least one office day a week and the rest by agreement
Preferably, experience from an internship or student job at a startup or fast-growing company, or in operations, finance or audit
