Accountant
Location: Milano
Reports to: Director of SCM and Finance
Salary: from €32,000 to €42,000 gross commensurate with experience.
Contract: CCNL Commercio, full-time, permanent
The role
We are a fast-growing scale-up in the renewable energy sector, with operations in Italy, Albania, and Tunisia. Our finance function is young, lean, and still under construction: closing, controls, and intercompany flows have been largely built from scratch over the last two years. Today we are looking for an operational person to consolidate, professionalize, and scale what has been established.
This is not a role for someone who wants to manage from a distance. The person will have direct responsibility for day-to-day accounting, will supervise external consultants (commercialista, payroll firm, auditor), will maintain alignment with the German HQ, and will be the operational finance point of reference for three entities in three countries.
Responsibilities
- Full accounting cycle for the Italian legal entity and oversight of the accounting for Albania and Tunisia: accounts payable cycle, accounts receivable cycle, general ledger, treasury, intercompany, accruals and deferrals, monthly and annual closings.
- End-to-end Italian tax compliance: VAT settlement, F24, Intrastat — in close coordination with the external commercialista.
- Statutory financial statements and audit support.
- Intercompany operations and transfer pricing: invoicing flows, reconciliations, Master File / Local File documentation, intercompany contracts.
- Group Reporting: monthly package to the German Group Controlling, IFRS/HGB adjustments, alignment of accounting entries.
- Treasury and cash management: payments, bank reconciliations, short-term cash forecast at a multi-entity level.
- External consultants: management, supervision, and review of the work of the commercialista, payroll firm, legal auditor, and local bookkeepers in AL/TN.
- Processes and tools: identifying closing weak points, driving automation, working with developer/IT teams on finance systems.
- Team: leading and growing a small finance team (currently 1–2 people), mentoring junior profiles, contributing to upcoming hires.
Requirements
- 4–5 years of accounting experience in Italy, ideally with a mix between a Studio (commercialista) and a structured company — experience in scale-ups or international groups is a relevant plus.
- Solid mastery of Italian accounting principles (OIC) and Italian tax compliance (IVA, F24, Intrastat). Operational knowledge of IFRS for group reporting purposes.
- Direct experience in end-to-end management of the monthly closing, including accruals, deferrals, intercompany, trial balance review, and reporting deliverables.
- Familiarity with a multi-entity and multi-currency context and in managing relationships with external consultants.
- Confident use of a structured ERP is preferred and advanced mastery of Excel.
- Full professional English — daily written and spoken use with HQ and non-Italian colleagues.
- "Owner" mentality: the person is comfortable being the primary point of contact for the auditor, commercialista, and controller for the three entities they are responsible for.
Plus
- Experience with transfer pricing documentation (Master/Local File, benchmark, intercompany contracts).
- Albanian and/or French — appreciated, given the operations in Tirana and Tunis.
- Experience in the renewable energy, utilities, EPC, or asset-intensive business sectors.
- Experience supporting or managing a statutory audit in Italy.
- Track record of process improvement or automation projects in the finance field.
What we offer
- A role with real visibility: finance is a business partner, the impact is concrete, and decisions do not get lost in intermediate levels.
- Direct exposure to an international context (Italy, Albania, Tunisia) and a German HQ.
- Space to grow the role: today an individual contributor with oversight, tomorrow a team lead tailored to the function.
- Gross annual salary (RAL) from €32,000 up to €42,000 commensurate with previous experience, calibrated on seniority and fit, CCNL Commercio package.
- A culture that rewards pragmatism, ownership, and clean books — not internal politics.
Enpal values diversity and promotes an inclusive environment. We evaluate candidates based on skills and potential, not background.
