Role Description The STEM Tutor (NSS Position) will provide on-site academic support to students in Accra, focusing on STEM subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Technology, and related fields. This is a full-time role that involves preparing and delivering engaging lessons, facilitating small-group and one-on-one tutoring sessions, and reinforcing classroom learning through structured exercises and practice. The tutor will assess student understanding, track progress, and provide feedback to help learners strengthen foundational concepts and problem-solving skills. The role includes collaborating with mentors and program coordinators, contributing to learning materials, and supporting educational tours or activities that integrate STEM concepts. The tutor will also maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with learners and families, and uphold Enlace’s commitment to inclusive, student-centered learning.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of STEM subjects (Mathematics, Science and English) and ability to explain concepts clearly to students at different levels. Skills in lesson preparation, academic coaching, and classroom or small-group facilitation to support effective learning. Ability to assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching approaches based on learner needs. Effective communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills, with a commitment to encouraging student engagement and confidence. Organizational and time-management abilities to handle full-time on-site responsibilities and maintain accurate student records. Bachelor’s degree or final-year/graduate status in a STEM-related discipline( Mathematics, Science & English) or Education, eligible for National Service. Interest in experiential learning and willingness to support educational tours and enrichment activities. Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and non-discriminatory educational practices.
