Technical Documentation Engineer

In this role, you form the link between mechanical engineering and the end user. You convert 3D models and technical information into digital documentation that supports customers with installation, operation, maintenance, and cleaning. At the same time, you actively contribute to the further digitalization and standardization of technical documentation.

What are you going to do?

Technical documentation & visualization

Within this role, you will draft installation, operation, maintenance, and cleaning manuals and maintain existing documentation. You use 3D CAD models of complex machines as a basis and process these in Creo Illustrate. In doing so, you select, isolate, move, hide, and number parts to clearly visualize technical information. You build 3D visualizations and work out step-by-step how users interact with a machine or component. You translate technical information into accurate and accessible English-language documentation with special attention to structure and ease of use.

Engineering & digitalization

You work closely with mechanical engineers to correctly interpret technical designs and models. Based on your technical insight, you ask the right questions and ensure that documentation is substantively consistent with the machine and its mechanical components. Additionally, you contribute to the further digitalization and standardization of technical documentation. You help shape the transition from classic documents with photos to interactive documentation based on 3D models. In this way, you combine engineering knowledge with visualization and technical communication within an environment where continuous improvement is central.

Who are you?

You possess a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Werktuigbouwkunde, or a similar technical field. Experience within an engineering or production environment is a strong asset. You have good knowledge of 3D CAD and are able to interpret technical models independently. Technical insight, accuracy, and a strong eye for detail are important within this function. A very good knowledge of English, both written and oral, is necessary. Experience with technical writing or technical documentation is a plus. You work in a structured manner, communicate clearly, and enjoy making complex technical information understandable. Even from a background in Mechanical Design, this role can be an interesting next step towards specialized technical documentation.
