MRI R&D Scientist Pharma
Job Description
As an MRI Scientist, you will work in an international analytical R&D environment on MRI applications for the development and optimization of pharmaceutical products and drug-delivery systems. In a modern laboratory equipped with advanced MRI and NMR technology, you will transform complex imaging into actionable insights for development projects.
You will regularly coordinate with colleagues from areas such as formulation development, analytical development, and materials science. With your scientific expertise, you will contribute to setting up new analytical methods and gaining a better understanding of pharmaceutical challenges.
Your responsibilities
- Developing and validating MRI methods for pharmaceutical applications
- Analyzing hydration, diffusion, and dissolution processes in formulations
- Assessing coating performance, capsules, and controlled-release systems
- Investigating the functionality of innovative drug-delivery devices
- Interpreting imaging data and translating results into clear project insights
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams within product development
- Performing basic experiments in solid-state NMR when necessary
- Working in a laboratory environment according to scientific quality standards
You are analytical and curious, and you derive energy from solving complex scientific problems. You work independently, but also actively seek collaboration with colleagues from different disciplines. Additionally, you communicate research results smoothly to both specialists and non-specialists.
Hard skills
- Master's in Physics, Chemistry, or a related scientific field
- A PhD is a plus
- Experience with pre-clinical MRI instrumentation is strongly desired
- Experience with the interpretation of imaging or spectroscopic data
- Good professional knowledge of English
- Knowledge of solid-state NMR is a strong asset
- Knowledge of R is a plus
